community carbon assessment 2015
The initiative of Roger Doudna (PET Chair and Carbon Neutrality director) after his participation at COP 21 in Paris in December 2015, this study was funded by a grant from the New Findhorn Association (NFA).
The web-based calculation tool ‘Our Impacts’ was used, kindly sponsored by Ecometrica, the Edinburgh based software company.
The assessment shows an average community footprint of 9.5 tonnes/year – effectively the UK average.
the calculation free-falls to 3.5 tonnes per year – effectively 1/3 of the UK average.
We would like to explore with you ways that we can work creatively with the implications and results of this study, with a view to repeating it for 2017 and finding ways to reduce our community footprint. ~ Roger Doudna (PET chair)
