This can happen, as a techie explained to us, for the following main reason: read this!
You might have problems using Safari browser. We suggest you use Chrome.
It has been explained to us by a techie that problems can occur when you are not using the Chrome browser. Checking up brought me to this information @feb 2021: Chrome is used by 64.5% of global web users ! Safari comes in second at 18.1% with Firefox at 4.1% and Internet Explorer&Edge at 1.25% !
So our advice is to switch over to Chrome.
By the by, if you have any issues with the normal running of your computer, first thing to always do is to clean up your browser cache (go to your settings page). That unclogs a lot of clutter…
If you’re getting a “cookie” message, read this!
This issue is a follow-on of the browser one above.
Chrome has 2 “Cookies” settings– one is the general one, the other is for 3rd parties. As PET uses a licensed calculator by Carbon Footprint Ltd (UK), when you press “Calculate and Add to footprint,” the “enable cookies” message could be activated if you’re using another browser.
What to do? Make sure you’re using Chrome. If you then open your computer’s “Settings” and type “cookies” into the search box, you should see all the cookie-settings highlighted. Check that they’re all “on.”
These are the two most solved issues since 2017. If, god forbid, you have any other PETsite please c/o webmaster, and I’ll get back to you asap😁.
Thanks for sh-&c-aring.

PET’s associates consist of skilled Findhorn Ecovillage Community volunteers & paid part-timers who work together in different areas.
- affordable Housing group:
available to assist (wider) Community bodies with Housing issues where necessary—especially in providing affordable housing — it does not bid for jobs.
If any (wider) Community body requires a developer for Section75 housing, please offer it for our consideration! - Carbon Strategy group:
available to assist (wider) Community bodies and members with their practical environmental concerns and carbon reduction aspirations. - Caring Community group:
a group of Community minded, caring people with a mission to try to help make life a little easier for people who request a visit through friendly concern.
Behind the executive areas is PET Central which services the strategic, finance&fundraising, governance, communications and administrative/compliance needs of the diVisions and PET as both a company and a charity.
All PET associates practise the 3Principles and the Common Ground of the Findhorn Ecovillage. In a nutshell, into everything they do, PET puts

Donating
Maya Angelou once said: “…people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel.” That’s why PET’s motto is CARE in action.
First of all, thank you for considering PET as a recipient of your charitable donations. All donations to this official charity (registered in Scotland as Company No: SC354855 and Charity No: SC041279, Registered Office: 45 The Park, Findhorn, Forres IV36 3TZ, UK) are tax deductible in the country of your residence.
There are three ways you can donate to PET:
Time | Money | Legacy |
donate your skills | to PET aff.Housing, Carbon programs, and to cover core costs | donate in your Will |
to Caring Community projects & programs, and to cover core costs | ||
c/o chair | c/o fundraising | c/o fundraising |
We understand that you want to feel comfortable with transferring your donation. For a GBP bank transfer please fill in that option in either the “PET or CCC specific use donation (uk£) forms” which you can find in the top menu under the “Donations” heading. So here are the different ways you can get it to PET and the CCC.

Simple: click here to go straight to our USsponsor’s PayPal account! Thank you in advance for your CARE in action! Remember to mention whether it’s for PET😃 or the CCC😁.
When getting money to PET or one of its diVisions, projects or programs, you can choose to pay via PayPal (your account or creditcard) or by Bank Transfer.
Advantages of an inter Bank Transfer:
- Transactions are safe and secure.
- There is no possibility of payment reversals.
- Transactions are not subject to chargebacks.
- Payments are fully electronic.
- You are in control of the process.
Disadvantages of e-pay systems:
- Security Concerns.
- Disputed Transactions.
- Increased Costs (to PET, so less of your donation goes to its beneficiaries…).
On the “Specific Use Donations Form” of either Park Ecovillage Trust or Caring Community Circle (your choice), when you choose to “donate using your Bank Transfer” you will receive a return email with the complete form info you filled in, for your reference, and then one with our bank details. We have to do this because of unfortunate security experiences… thank you for understanding.
With both these bits of information you yourself can set up the transaction on your bank’s payment app. You’re in control of your transfer directly between our banks, and we’re happy that you’re happy! Choose PET or the CCC link above and remember to mention on your transfer the specific project you’re supporting! And what about UK Gift Aid? Click on the link to see how to add a free2you 25% to your own donation!!!
Thank you for your CARE in action.
Volunteering
You want donate your time and skills — that’s fantastic!
Best thing is to (1) take a look at our volunteering page and online application form and then (2) have an informal, informative chat with one of the PET directors or a member of the CCCmanagement committee to get a first hand idea about PET/ccc.
End 2017 the PETboard agreed that most important were:
