Volunteer work organised by Jonathan Caddy, chair of the Findhorn Hinterland Trust, and son of the Founders, Eileen and Peter Caddy, prepared the trunks of trees blown down in spring storms for use in the construction of the New Sanctuary. Work was undertaken off-site on open space near the wind turbines.

The windfall round logs will become the pillars, while the planks and lumber are from trees that were felled on the sanctuary site and will be used in the new building.
