About PET & CCC
The Park Ecovillage Trust (PET) fosters sustainable living, social connection, and care across the ecovillage and wider community. One of its heart-works is the Caring Community Circle (CCC): a network of volunteers, neighbours, friends and coordinators who support community members in need, offering help, companionship, emotional support, and holding space for wellbeing events and gatherings.
When you volunteer with CCC, you help uphold a culture of care that embraces people through all stages of life from everyday support to deeper human connection. See below for a volunteer application.

Caring Community Circle
Why Volunteer with CCC?
Make a real difference: Your time, care and presence can offer practical help or emotional comfort to someone who feels alone or vulnerable.
Grow personally: Volunteering helps you develop empathy, social awareness, listening and life-skills, qualities that serve you and others.
Build community: Help weave the invisible threads of belonging that keep our neighbourhood strong, connected and compassionate.
Flexible & inclusive: Whether you can give a few hours or more, young or older. All are welcome.
What CCC Volunteers Do
Volunteers may:
- Offer companionship and friendly visits to those who feel isolated or need a listening ear.
- Help with practical tasks such as shopping, meals, transport, appointments, small jobs for those with limited mobility or resources.
- Provide emotional support, signposting to resources, and a caring presence through life transitions or difficult times
- Participate in, or help organise, wellbeing talks, community events, social gatherings, and shared, resource initiatives like the tool library and workshops.
Who We Are Looking For
We welcome people who:
- Have a generous spirit: kindness, empathy, and a caring attitude
- Are respectful, patient, and good listeners
- Can commit to occasional or regular volunteering (flexible scheduling, we appreciate any time you can offer)
- Want to contribute to their community and help build genuine connections
- No formal qualifications are needed: a willingness to help is what matters. We, however, will give you proper training.
- A Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) background check is needed to ensure the safety of children and vulnerable adults in Scotland. It is a legal requirement for anyone working in a “regulated role” (paid or unpaid) with these groups.
What You Get in Return
Volunteering with the CCC gives you:
- A chance to make real, tangible difference in people’s lives
- Personal growth: empathy, communication, life-skills and community awareness
- A sense of belonging in a caring, supportive community
- Warm human connections, shared experiences, community events and social involvement
- The knowledge that you are part of a longstanding living tradition of mutual support and care
